Class Objectives
/Class Outline
In this course, students will mainly learn about the political situation in Asian and African countries and the international politics surrounding these regions. Politics in Asia and Africa have many points in common with politics in the West, but at the same time there are many significant differences. For example, democracies are not necessarily in the majority, the political influence of military and religious forces is strong, and political theories derived from the cases of Western countries do not apply in many cases. Through this course, students will deepen their theoretical and systematic understanding of the political situation in the Asia-Africa region and improve their ability to explain the complex aspects of the situation there.
