This class aims to deepen the knowledge and understanding of foreign languages and culture through reading various English and Japanese texts. It also aims to improve students' ability and skills to analyze those texts and present their own interpretations on them more clearly and logically.

Class Objectives

In this class, students are expected to learn various sophisticated English expressions and styles, along with techniques regarding English-Japanese translation, through reading 19th and 20th British and American short stories and discussing them with their classmates.  This class also aims to provide students with background knowledge about British and American cultures and societies so they can gain a deeper understanding of the works discussed in the class.
