Learning techniques to be incorporated
Suggestions on
Preparation and
Review
Students are expected to engage with the designated readings for each session and visualize themselves articulating the content to others. Additionally, it is recommended that students diligently incorporate daily practice of English pronunciation, leveraging the knowledge and techniques acquired throughout the course.
Requirements Please bring your laptop (tablets not allowed), headphones (with microphone is okay), mouse, and webcam (built-in webcam on your laptop is acceptable) to each session. There will be no written exams, but we will conduct quizzes on Moodle each session, and there will be several recording assignments.
Additionally, there may be opportunities for participation in speech experiments or surveys during class. Your active involvement in such activities is encouraged.
Grading Method Grading will be based on assignments (50%), quizzes (40%), and in-class activities/comment sheets (10%). Regular attendance is essential, and missing more than three sessions will result in disqualification. Lateness of more than 30 minutes will be counted as an absence.
Practical Experience
Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it
Message Why not take a fresh look at English language communication? Clear and intelligible pronunciation not only enhances self-expression skills but also helps in avoiding misunderstandings in intercultural communication, reduces the listener's cognitive load, and promotes interest and memory retention. By systematically applying knowledge of phonetics and consciously practicing pronunciation, faster improvement can be expected, leading to increased confidence.
Other
Please fill in the class improvement questionnaire which is carried out on all classes.
Instructors will reflect on your feedback and utilize the information for improving their teaching.
