In this lecture, we will provide an overview of the interdisciplinary field of Visual Culture Studies. Visual culture encompasses a wide range of media, including what is traditionally considered as fine arts, as well as photography, film, television, advertising, comics, and fashion. How do we see and understand these visual images? We will explore methods to interpret the plethora of visual images that surround us. Focusing on exhibitions and advertising as our main topics, we will examine their roles and functions within modern and contemporary culture. |

The report is planned to be an assignment where students select one image of interest, describe and analyze it, and clarify its function, with submission scheduled for a later date. |
