| 授業の目標・概要等 |
In this class students will develop their English speaking and listening abilities. The course is designed to provide many opportunities to discuss common and important topics in a clear confident manner. Students will develop their abilities to express their own opinions convincingly, and to understand how to effectively participate in any natural conversational exchange. Students will gain confidence as they increase their communicative abilities. Each week classes will focus on one topic, and a variety of tasks will be performed to maximize students’ abilities to converse on these topics. Relevant vocabulary and expressions will be introduced and practiced in routine exchanges. Students will then participate in small and large discussion groups, and attempt to clarify their views, and share them effectively with others. (Topics and order subject to change.) |

Be prepared to discuss issues and ideas in small and large groups, and not to worry about making mistakes. This is meant to be a practical course in skill development, one where lots of “exercise” is necessary to improve your conversational abilities in English.
