農林水産省安全局から、「夏季休暇期間中における動植物検疫の徹底」について、以下の通り、注意喚起及び周知協力の依頼がありましたので、お知らせします。

これから夏季休暇期間中においては、国内外の人の移動が活発になることが予想されます。
農林水産省では、入国者に対する植物・畜産物の持込み禁止に関する広報、靴底消毒、 携帯品及び国際郵便物の検査等を強化するとともに、各地でキャンペーン等の啓発活動 を行うこととしています。

つきましては、動植物検疫にかかる以下URL及び、添付チラシ（多言語）をご参照の上、渡航に際しましては、ご留意頂きますようよろしくお願いいたします。

【留意点】
・植物の病害虫や家畜の伝染病の拡大を防ぐため、日本では、果物・野菜や肉・肉製品
の海外からの持込みを厳しく制限しています。
・持込みが禁止されていないものでも、生の果物・野菜、穀類、豆類などの持込みには、植
物検疫証明書が必要です。
・肉・肉製品の持込みは禁止されています。
これらは、機内食やお土産、少量であっても例外はありません。
違法な持込みには、罰則（最大３年の拘禁刑又は最大 300 万円（法人は最大 5,000 万
円）の罰金）が課される場合がありますので注意してください。

The Safety Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has requested that we raise awareness and cooperate in disseminating the following information regarding “Thorough Animal and Plant Quarantine During Summer Vacation Period.”

During the upcoming summer vacation period, there is expected to be increased movement of people both domestically and internationally.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will strengthen publicity regarding the prohibition of bringing in plants and livestock products by incoming travelers, disinfection of shoe soles, inspection of carry-on items and international mail, and will conduct awareness-raising activities such as campaigns in various locations.

Please refer to the following URL and the attached flyer (multilingual) regarding animal and plant quarantine, and take note of the following when traveling.

【Points to note】
・To prevent the spread of plant pests and diseases and livestock infectious diseases, Japan strictly restricts the importation of fruits, vegetables, meat, and meat products from overseas.
・Even for items not prohibited, a plant quarantine certificate is required for the importation of fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, etc.
• The importation of meat and meat products is prohibited.
This applies to all items, including in-flight meals, souvenirs, and even small quantities.
Please take note that illegal importation may result in penalties, including imprisonment for up to three years or a fine of up to 3 million yen (or up to 50 million yen for corporations).
