Class Objectives /Class Outline |
Each student is to make a presentation on research cases, research trend, and results of research, in the fields of special support pedagogy or spoken language pathology, and discuss. Moreover, students not only discuss the various research contents and methods of research, but also actually re-summarize a master's thesis and publish the paper in a refereed academic journal, and learn the paper writing procedure as researchers. Thereby students will acquire understanding and skills necessary for writing a doctoral dissertation. |

The presenter in each class should read necessary documents beforehand in presentation of study subject, study trend, study plan, and the result of analysis. After the presentation, you should gather necessary materials for more understanding and modification of plan and result, and deepen your understanding of your study subject for the next class. Students except the presenter should investigate unknown points and questions about the contents of each class. |

Based on practical experience as a certified speech-language pathologist in the United States (CCC-SLP), including work in public schools, university hospitals, and university-affiliated speech-language clinics, as well as professional experience in Japan as a speech-language-hearing therapist and licensed psychologist at this university, this lecture provides an overview of the differences between the Japanese and U.S. systems and their respective professional practices. |
