The lectures assume that participants have thoroughly read the assigned textbooks, case law, and related materials, and have considered the issues presented in TKC. Classes are conducted in an interactive format that includes opportunities for questions and answers. While the basic knowledge required of all participants is covered in the textbooks and reference materials, each student’s advance preparation and review are essential for achieving a deeper understanding of the lecture content.

Class Objectives
/Class Outline
The lectures assume that participants have thoroughly read the assigned textbooks, case law, and related materials, and have considered the issues presented in TKC. Classes are conducted in an interactive format that includes opportunities for questions and answers. While the basic knowledge required of all participants is covered in the textbooks and reference materials, each student’s advance preparation and review are essential for achieving a deeper understanding of the lecture content. 
Class Schedule 1–2: Set-off in Litigation (I–II)
While reviewing material covered in the previous semester, these sessions examine various situations in which set-off becomes an issue in civil court proceedings.
3–4: Ordinary Joint Litigation (I–II)
These sessions address key issues surrounding ordinary joint litigation.
5–6: Mandatory Joint Litigation (I–II)
Using cases involving co-owned property, the course examines the basic procedural rules governing mandatory joint litigation and forms of joint participation.
7–8: Independent Party Intervention (I–II)
Judicial precedents and scholarly views concerning independent party intervention—particularly interventions based on the assertion of rights—are analyzed.
9–10: Auxiliary Intervention (I–II)
These sessions consider issues such as the interest required for auxiliary intervention, the effects of procedural acts by the intervenor, participatory effects, quasi–joint intervention, and matters related to litigation notice, with reference to case law and academic commentary.
11–12: Successors in Litigation (I–II)
These sessions examine the procedural rules applicable when a successor appears before litigation begins, during the litigation process, or after the critical point for determining the parties.
13–14: Representation and Litigation on Behalf of Another; Unincorporated Associations
Judicial precedents and scholarly theories concerning statutory representation, voluntary representation in litigation, and unincorporated associations lacking legal capacity are reviewed.
15: Summary

Midterm and final examinations will be administered.
