This course provides guidance for writing a research paper on learning and instruction in Japanese language education. 
Class Schedule Session 1 Orientation: understanding the purpose of learning development
Session 2 Clarifying each student’s research issue with reference to the characteristics of Japanese language education
Session 3 Setting the research aim based on the identified issue
Session 4 Considering research methods appropriate to the research aim
Session 5 Reviewing prior research relevant to the research aim
Session 6 Collecting necessary literature relevant to the research aim
Session 7 Constructing a theoretical framework for the study
Session 8 Collecting data in line with the research aim
Session 9 Analysing the collected data
Session 10 Developing discussion based on the data analysis
Session 11 Learning how to structure a research paper appropriately
Session 12 Learning academic writing conventions and formatting
Session 13 Writing the research paper
