Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This course aims to develop an understanding of research issues in tectonic geomorphology and active fault studies, to foster a proactive attitude toward pursuing such research, and to cultivate the ability to conduct research using rational and systematic methods.
The course provides an overview of the various methods for subsurface seafloor exploration, their historical development, underlying principles, and the ethical considerations and legal regulations associated with their implementation. Through practical training in actual survey operations, data processing and analysis, and methods of interpretation, students gain an understanding of both the potential and the limitations of applying sub-seafloor stratigraphic investigations to tectonic geomorphological research.
