Class Objectives
/Class Outline
The objectives of this Exercises are to: (1) give the M.S. candidates practical experience with the management of livestock animals, especially dairy cows, and (2) demonstrate and practice management concepts and techniques. 
Class Schedule Students learn how to solve the problems concerning sustainable dairy production and conduct research on milk production and welfare of dairy cattle at the Dairy Ecosystem Research & Development Center (Dairy Farm) in Hiroshima University. The exercises in the Dairy Farm are conducted 15 times per a term. The exercises include lectures in lecture room and the research based on the observations of behavior of dairy cattle in the cowsheds. The research is planned and conducted by the student based on the advice of the professor to solve the problem about welfare of dairy cows and milk production in the Dairy Farm. A final written report is to be presented.
