As a Japanese subject for international students, we have the following positioning:

Based on the knowledge and skills of Japanese acquired at the basic stage,
(1) Develop comprehensive basic Japanese skills suitable for cultured Japanese users, including written Japanese skills.
(2) By learning expressions of acceptance, expressions related to conversation management, conversational sentence-ending expressions, etc., improve face-to-face and oral conversation skills.
(3) Learn about various familiar topics, and by discussing them with each other, experience the diversity of the world and individuals, and adopt an attitude that accepts diversity and individuality.

Objectives of the lesson:
In this class, based on the Japanese knowledge and skills acquired in the basic stage, we aim to develop comprehensive basic Japanese language skills, including oral and written Japanese, equivalent to N4 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
In order to achieve these goals, this class covers a variety of topics in units, and through engaging in a variety of language activities around these topics, students will enhance their Japanese vocabulary, sentence patterns, grammar, etc., and improve their conversation management skills.

Exam/report implementation schedule: An oral exam and a written exam will be held at the end of the term.

・Review vocabulary and expressions before class.
・Review your notes after class and organize your understanding.
・Submit assignments by the deadline. 
Requirements ・Only students who have taken the the Morito International Higher Education Institute's Japanese placement test and have been placed at Level 3 are eligible to enroll.
・The intermediate Japanese courses on Tuesdays and Thursdays are offered as a set, and students are expected to enroll in both courses.
・Students who are absent for more than one-third of the total classes will not receive a grade. 
Grading Method ・Performance in class: 20%, Submission of worksheets, etc.: 30%, Essay: 10%, Final oral test: 10%, Final written test: 30%
