[5th・6th  periods]   Listening
The course focuses on: (1) understanding of Japanese culture and society by discussing topics in daily life; (2) enriching vocabulary by dealing with various daily scenarios and situations, and (3) developing overall Japanese language skills through various language exercises.

[7th・8th  periods]   Vocabulary
To enhance students’ vocabulary through the study of collocations and to improve their ability to use natural Japanese by learning various expressions, including idioms and set phrases.
 
Class Schedule The course consists of 8 listening classes (5th and 6th period) and 8 vocabulary classes (7th and 8th period).

[5th・6th periods]
In this class, students listen to some Japanese discourse and practice to catch the points below.

1. Outline of a speech
2. Structure of a speech
3. Contractive expressions
4. Indiscernible pronunciations
5. Skipping over unfamiliar words
6. Conjunctions
7. Expression for drawing a line
8. Revision, Exam


[7th・8th periods]
1) Understand the meaning of words and categorize example sentences
2) Learn the use while looking at examples
3) Search related usages
4) Practice making short sentences with idioms

[5th・6th periods] Students are expected to check new vocabulary of each lesson in preparation for class and   review the dialogue of each lesson through dictation practice.
[7th・8th periods] Students should look up the kanji, meanings and readings of the words before class. 
Requirements Students who are placed into Level 4 based on the placement test and are not a native speaker of Japanese.
