This course aims to strengthen the competencies needed to live and succeed in society by understanding and practicing diversity—particularly knowledge of finance and career/life planning, as well as the ability to adapt flexibly to change. 
Expected OutcomeStudents will acquire the financial literacy necessary for career development and cultivate the ability to design a life plan suited to the 100-year life era. They will also develop the capacity to respond flexibly to rapid changes in the economic environment and learn knowledge and case studies directly connected to real life.

/Class Outline
In the 100-year life era, sound knowledge about money and improved financial literacy are indispensable for planning one's future. With rapid technological advances and changes in the economic environment, we live in an age where the future is hard to predict. In this course, students will understand the roles and risks of money and learn practical hints for thriving in society, thereby fostering the ability to make autonomous decisions and take action in life and career planning. Students will acquire knowledge directly tied to daily life and aim to build the ability to adapt flexibly to change.

Lesson 1: Learn the importance of financial literacy for asset building in the 100-year life era and understand the overall structure and learning objectives of the course.
Lesson 2: List desired life events, estimate the funds required, and study planned saving.
Lesson 3: For planning funds to realize life events, learn the basics of loans and current loan practices to cultivate sound judgment.
Lesson 4: Study trouble cases involving contracts, cards, the internet, and investments.
Lesson 5: Understand the public pension system and the need for self-help asset formation, and acquire knowledge useful for future retirement funds.
Lesson6: Learn the necessity of private insurance in light of public insurance.
Lesson7: Understand the difference between saving and investing and learn the basic mechanisms of financial products.
Lesson8: Deepen knowledge of risks necessary for actual asset management and learn concrete management methods.
Lesson 9: Learn about banks' local contributions and their diverse roles in supporting the economy, and understand how financial literacy is applied in practice and daily life.
Lesson 10: Learn how improving financial literacy affects your career plan.
Lesson 11: Study the background to promoting cashless payments and consider the pros and cons of cashless settlements.
Lesson 12: Learn about the familiar financial product “leasing” and how it relates to decarbonization and the circular economy.
Lesson 13: Review previous content and learn the fundamentals and key points for becoming a smart consumer.
Lesson 14: Understand basic economic indicators and the effects of yen depreciation/appreciation.
Lesson 15: Present your own life plan and career plan—and the related financial plan—based on the PowerPoint materials you have created, within a small group.
