In response to the demands of globalization, this course aims to cultivate the communication skills needed to access and disseminate information in various foreign languages, while enabling students to acquire relevant knowledge and skills and deepen their understanding of diverse languages and cultures. 
Expected Outcome1. Students will be able to use a foreign language to engage in everyday communication both orally and in writing.

As a continuation of Basic Korean I and II offered in the first semester, this course is conducted through two coordinated weekly sessions to further develop students’ command of fundamental Korean grammar, vocabulary, and expressions and to foster basic communicative competence in Korean.

This course is an advanced course designed for students who have acquired the fundamentals of Korean. It aims to further develop students’ ability to apply previously learned material in a more advanced manner and to engage in a wider range of everyday communicative situations, while deepening their understanding of Korean society and culture. Through the use of audiovisual materials such as Korean films and K-pop, students will examine the relationship between linguistic expressions and their social and cultural contexts, thereby deepening their understanding of Korea as a neighboring country and enhancing their intercultural competence.

This course aims to systematically introduce new grammatical structures while encouraging students to apply previously learned material in a more advanced manner, thereby developing their ability to engage in a variety of everyday communicative situations.

1. Students will understand and appropriately use past tense forms, expressions of conjecture, progressive and connective expressions, and irregular verb and adjective conjugations in everyday conversations.

2. Students will understand and use vocabulary and expressions related to taste, daily routines, and personality, applying them appropriately in specific contexts.

3. Students will deepen their understanding of Korean interpersonal etiquette, café culture, and youth culture, and develop the ability to view other cultures from a relative and reflective perspective.

・Grammar: Past tense; Sino-Korean numerals; progressive/continuative endings; connective (background-setting) endings; conditional/hypothetical endings; present adnominal form, etc.
・Expressions: Expressions related to taste; expressions used in restaurants/cafeterias; expressions for describing states and people, etc.

Preparation and
Review
1. Complete the assigned preparation in advance and review the meanings and pronunciations of new vocabulary before class.

2. Listen to the audio of the text (dialogue) at least three times in advance and come to class having familiarized yourself with the content.

3. Review the vocabulary, expressions, and grammatical items covered in each class to ensure retention.

4. Submit all assigned tasks by the designated deadline. 
Requirements The Tuesday (5th–6th periods) and Thursday (5th–6th periods) classes are conducted as coordinated sessions. Students must enroll in both and may not take only one. 
Grading Method Grades will be determined based on the following guidelines:
Coursework: 20–40%; Final exam: 60–80%.
