Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This course, offered as a foreign language subject within general education, aims to develop the vocabulary and grammar skills that form the foundation for receiving and producing information in English, and to foster the knowledge and skills necessary for everyday communication. While the course refers to a vocabulary and grammar level equivalent to approximately TOEIC L&R 600 as a benchmark, it is not intended solely as test preparation.
In addition, through self-directed learning centered on online materials, students will identify their own learning needs and cultivate the ability to continue studying in a planned and autonomous manner (learner autonomy). To support these goals, the course incorporates repetitive practice using ALC NetAcademy, vocabulary-use training through the TOEIC Collocation System supervised by Tetsuya Yasukochi, and diagnostic TOEIC-style tests administered in the first and final classes to monitor progress and promote reflective improvement.
