【Objectives】 This course aims to develop practical and advanced language proficiency that enables students to express their own ideas in Korean and to serve as bridges between Japanese and Korean societies and cultures by studying Korean at the intermediate level.
1. Building on the basic grammar learned in the first year, students will acquire intermediate-level grammar and be able to compose written texts and use the learned grammatical structures appropriately in conversation. 2. Students will actively utilize contemporary ICT (Information and Communication Technology), such as the Internet, to independently search for, analyze, and disseminate information related to different language communities. 3. Through content-based instruction, students will develop the ability to express their opinions logically and engage in discussions in Korean on topics such as current issues in Korea and comparisons between Japanese and Korean society and culture. 4. By enhancing language awareness and language learning awareness, students will acquire language learning strategies that can be applied not only to Korean but also to other foreign languages, including English.
【Course Overview】 Based on the objectives above, the course will generally be conducted according to the following steps:
1. Grammar Learning Review and application of basic grammar, along with the acquisition of intermediate-level grammar. 2. Practice Activities Students gradually learn how to apply grammatical structures and expressions through practice exercises. 3. Analysis of Model Dialogues Students analyze the dialogues presented in each unit and confirm how grammatical structures and expressions are used. 4. Outline Creation for Dialogues Referring to the model dialogues, students (individually or in pairs) summarize in Japanese the outline of a dialogue based on a theme presented by the instructor. 5. Dialogue Writing (Assignment) Based on the outline, students create a dialogue in Korean. 6. Sharing and Feedback In the following class, students share their dialogues in pairs and compare and analyze the content and expressions used. Selected dialogues are explained by the instructor and feedback is provided. |

| Requirements |
1. This course is part of the "Trilingual Training Special Program – Korean." While participation in the program is recommended, students who are not part of the program may also take this course. 2. Students who have only taken "Basic Korean" in their first year should thoroughly self-study the first-year textbook, Shin Korean e no Tobira, up to the end before the course begins. 3. This course involves frequent pair and group work. Even if you are not familiar with it, do not hesitate—participate actively and confidently. |
