Designed for students new to animal husbandry and individuals who have not had any classes of animal science, this course will provide practical experience in animal production. Students will be familiarized with farm animals and their product through the course. |

8th/Sep. (Tue.) Gather in front of JR Saijo Station. Visiting the University Farm. Course introduction. Explanation about the assignments. Introduction about animal welfare. 9th/Sep. Farming practices: Feeding dairy cows, milking from dairy cows. Part 1. Lectures on human animal relationship, agricultural production and environment, and SDGs. Observation of the internal structures of chickens' body. Preparation for group presentation. 10th/Sep. Farming practices: Feeding dairy cows, milking from dairy cows. Part 2. Exploring the function of the earth that supports the lives of livestock. Feel the life of dairy cows. Measuring the body temperature of dairy cows. Milk tasting and butter making. 11th/Sep. Group presentation and discussion. Disbanded at Saijo Station around noon. |
