In this course, students will learn about various issues in contemporary society and the principles, systems, and policies of social welfare that address these issues. The course will examine welfare systems, including social security, for children, older adults, people with disabilities, and people experiencing financial hardship, and explore how social welfare relates to people’s lives and society. Through specific case studies, students will deepen their understanding of the background of these systems and the challenges they face.
