(Applicable only to targeted subjects for undergraduate students) Focusing on the family as a place of human life, this course logically studies the background and current situation of the discrepancy between the role of the family expected by Japanese society and the actual practice of the family. Based on this, the course aims to consider the future of "family" from the perspective of sustainability and to gain a basic understanding of lifelong activity education in general.

/Class Outline 1. Understand what a "modern family" is and consider how it influences current family structures and thinking.
2. Identify the life challenges faced by modern Japanese families (childcare, elderly care, family formation, family violence, social withdrawal, etc.), and consider the background to the issues and solutions while also taking into account the opinions of others.
3. Be able to think logically and explain the future of the "family."

Review Preparation: Actively gather information on topics related to families (incidents, systems and policies, issues being raised, etc.).
Review: In addition to working on the assignments given in class, get into the habit of asking yourself "what do I think?" and "why do I think that way?" based on new knowledge and values related to the topic covered. Before the 8th class (the first face-to-face class), be sure to review the previous 7th classes.

Requirements

Grading Method 50% for in-class assignments, 10% for participation in group reports and discussions, 40% for final assignments
