The goal of this course is to deepen expertise in medieval and early-modern Japanese literature, acquire research methods and writing conventions necessary for preparing a graduation thesis, and develop the ability to propose new insights within the history of scholarship.

Students will repeatedly draft and revise individual chapters of their thesis, as well as review and refine the introduction, gradually improving the overall quality and completeness of their graduation thesis.
