This course examines the aims and content of Japanese language education in elementary school, based on the national curriculum guidelines (Courses of Study) for Grades 1 through 6. Students will study theories and methods of instructional material research, and learn how to design, analyse, and evaluate lessons grounded in theories of child development and learning.
Through the creation of unit plans and lesson plans that utilise subject-specific teaching materials, and through presentation and discussion of instructional designs, students will develop foundational competencies in lesson planning that anticipate concrete classroom situations.
