Class Status within Liberal Arts Education | This is a 2-credit required course for all students. The diversification of learning experiences up to high school has progressed, and the backgrounds of incoming students have also become more varied. Some students have become accustomed to passive learning and struggle to adapt to university learning, which emphasizes independence. Furthermore, opportunities for new students to experientially grasp the fascination and enjoyment of academic inquiry are relatively scarce at the outset of their studies. Considering these student circumstances, the Liberal Arts Seminar provides opportunities to cultivate intellectual curiosity by actively engaging freshmen in learning activities. It also facilitates communication between students and faculty, as well as among students themselves, thereby contributing to the formation of learning communities. |
