In addition to learning the basics of industrial thermodynamics, students will learn the mechanisms and efficiency of major cycles such as gas cycles and steam cycles, and acquire methods for converting thermal energy into power and how to evaluate them. In addition, students will learn advanced research on heat transport in materials, which has been emphasized in recent years.

Since the handouts include excerpts from the slides used in the lecture, it is advisable to review the oral explanations given in the lecture by taking notes on the slide excerpts. 
Requirements  
Grading Method The students will be graded on the basis of their responses to the exercises in the lecture (70%) and the final report (30%). Totally 60% or higher score will be needed to get the credit.
