Class Objectives
/Class Outline
[Objective ]
(1) To gain a comparative legal perspective on the creation of law and the influence of subcultures and religions.
(2) To obtain information on family-related legal systems in East Asia and other Asian countries.
(3) To acquire the ability to respond globally, which will be necessary in the future.
[Outline]
The number of people from Asian countries who come to Japan and stay in Japan is increasing every year, and problems related to marital relations, including de facto and de jure marriages, between Japanese people are increasing. In addition, problems related to children, regardless of marriage, are also increasing. In order to deal with these issues, the lecture will focus on the relevant private international law, legal information on marriage and parent-child relationships in each country, and judicial systems related to family matters, with an eye to those who have a basic knowledge of Japanese family law and judicial systems. Specifically, Korea, China, the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and the Islamic world. By learning the characteristics of each country's system, we aim to nurture legal professionals who can respond to globalization.
