Class Objectives
/Class Outline
Remote sensing is a measurement method that utilizes the properties of materials that reflect and absorb light. In this class, I will give lectures on the basics of remote sensing related to earth monitoring and its application to social sciences. The second half of each class is devoted to exercises, in which remote sensing data are used practically to deepen understanding.

Class Schedule lesson1 Basics of Data Analysis 1
lesson2 Exercise 1: basic exercise 1
lesson3 Basics of Data Analysis 2: Global Temperature
lesson4 Exercise 2: basic exercise 2
lesson5 Basics of Data Analysis 3: Global Precipitation
lesson6 Exercise 3: basic exercise 3
lesson7 Lecture: Remote Sensing of Ecosystems
lesson8 Exercise 4: Global Vegetation Distribution
lesson9 Lecture: Remote Sensing of Land Cover
lesson10 Exercise 5: Changes in Land Cover
