In this class, we will learn about the relationships between literature and theory. The course introduces historical background, literary terms, and critical approaches relating to Feminism, Queer Theory, Marxist criticism, Trauma Theory, and Waste Theory. After learning about the concepts, history, and development of specific literary theories, we will approach literary texts through various theoretical lenses.
