Class Objectives /Class Outline |
This course aims to develop an understanding of the research methods for studying Chinese classical novels, particularly those written in literary Chinese (wenyan xiaoshuo). Students will also deepen their comprehension of the literary characteristics of these works and the Chinese cultural background behind them. Furthermore, we will explore how these Chinese classical novels have influenced Japanese literature and culture. The lectures will not only consist of explanations by the instructor but will also encourage active discussions with students to enhance their understanding of the texts. |
