Through listening comprehension exercises, this course aims to improve students' ability to listen to university lectures and presentations in order to acquire an advanced level of "Academic Japanese," the Japanese language required for university study. At the same time, the objective is to cultivate the ability to express opinions in discussions. Listening comprehension will mainly focus on topics related to Japanese society and culture, but will also cover current events using news and other media related to the topic to further develop vocabulary. Students will also practice developing and strengthening their ability to accurately listen to information and write summaries based on the information they have heard.

In this lecture, you will go through one section of the textbook per lecture (from the first to the fifteenth). During preparation, please check the questions and listen to the audio in advance. In addition, as a review, please continue to study independently after class by listening to audio and organizing the items you have studied. 
Requirements Required to be non-Japanese native speakers who are placed on ‘Level 5’ with Japanese Placement Test Conducted by Morito Institute. 
Grading Method Efforts in class and assignments: 60%, End of term test: 40%
