Expected Outcome1.A well-balanced understanding of various social barriers to learning, along with support techniques, skills, and technologies to overcome them, can be acquired.
2.Support skills such as summary transcription (handwriting, typing, and voice input), guide assistance (mobility support, sighted guide techniques, and wheelchair assistance), Braille transcription, audio transcription, and subtitle creation can be learned.
3.Communication skills, including finger spelling, Japanese Sign Language adapted for spoken Japanese (basic daily conversation), and the clock position method, will also be developed. 
Class Objectives
/Class Outline
1.The goal is to experientially understand the locations of social barriers to learning related to visual impairment, hearing/language impairment, physical disabilities, internal disabilities, developmental disabilities, mental illness, etc., and to acquire support skills and communication skills such as summary note-taking, guide assistance, braille translation, and Japanese sign language to support the learning of students with disabilities.
2.Overview: Every week, students will attend one session of "Basic Training" where experienced instructors in practical settings directly teach support techniques such as summary note-taking, sign language, guide assistance, and braille translation. Overview: In addition, students will practice on-demand assignments related to understanding disabilities and acquiring support skills through Moodle in "Individual Training." Students can also prioritize attending the "Sign Language Workshop," which is scheduled to be held on Saturdays (in week 7).

Online Accessibility Course will be helpful for your understanding. 
Requirements 1.Some tasks require listening comprehension in Japanese and writing in Japanese.
2.The basic training sessions from Week 3 to Week 7 will be conducted in a synchronous online format (via Teams) based on the available time slots of the participants (time slots without other classes).
Note: Participants must register their available time slots in Week 1. Failure to complete the registration by the deadline may result in the inability to attend the basic training sessions from Week 3 to Week 7.
3.When attending via Teams, please ensure that you are in an environment where you can turn on your camera and microphone.

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Faculty members of the Accessibility Center who have extensive practical experience in supporting students with disabilities will provide technical guidance. 
Message This class is specified by Accessibility Leader Special Program. The credit of this class is necessary to get the top-level certificate in Accessibility Leader.
