1) Understand the daily lives of people in nineteenth-century British society from a sociological perspective.
2) Describe how people with a criminal past were treated in nineteenth-century British society.

Students will be expected to discuss what the daily lives of people were like and how people with criminal records were treated in nineteenth-century British society. It is important that students read the required chapters well in advance of each class. 
Requirements There are no specific prerequisites for this course.  
Grading Method Term papers and active class participation are required for this course.
