Students are expected to discuss the issues of poor children and their family backgrounds in nineteenth-century British society from a sociological perspective. It is important that students read the required chapters well in advance of each class. 
Requirements There are no specific prerequisites for this course.  
Grading Method Term papers and regular class participation are required for this course.
