/Class Outline
The purpose of public health is to remove the factors that inhibit human life and health in collaboration with the efforts of an organized society. Thus, the range of public health studies spans a wide variety of fields, starting with food toxins, and includes lifestyle-related diseases, environmental issues, pollution, and healthcare systems. Specifically, students will learn the foundations of public health studies and grasp the overall concept of public health.

The 15 lectures will accommodate as much content as allowed by time. However, it is impossible to explain such a wide range of content within the class time, so please study on your own using the text as well as other reference books. It is important to reinforce the knowledge gained in this course. It is important for students to deepen their understanding and interpretation of information through independent and comprehensive study for the regular test.

Message Public Health is becoming the foundation of the Health, Labour and Welfare Administration and Policy, and there are many laws and regulations involved in the content being taught. The range of public health is extremely wide, and there is a sense of “anything goes.” However, all matters discussed relate to the life and health of the people (public). The vast knowledge gained here includes matters that will be useful in living your own life in a healthier manner, not simply matters in the field of food sanitation.
