Students are required to understand the basic concepts and ideas about human development (Bildung) by critically reading assigned readings (in Japanese and English) that focus on the philosophy of education.

・Having the basic skills of research method on pedagogy such as foreign language competency, phyloanalysis, observation methods and information processing skills.
・Being able to examine the results on some educational problem analytically and critically by making use of research approaches (Media literacy and critical thinking). 
Class Objectives

This course aims to foster students' philosophical mind on education by their critically reading materials of philosophy of education including English ones. The course consists of the part in which students give a presentation about the assigned material and the part in which the lecture and discussion related that material are given. This year the theme of learning is especially considered, expanding to the principle of educational relationship as well as educational assessments.
