This course provides students with basic knowledge of Indo-European studies by focusing on research history, methods and Indo-European daughter languages.

3. Phonology: Proto-Indo-European consonants and sound correspondences between daughter languages

4. Phonology: Proto-Indo-European vocalism

8. Morphology: noun stems of Proto-Indo-European (thamatic stems)

9. Morphology: noun stems of Proto-Indo-European (feminine noun stem)

10. Morphology: noun stems of Proto-Indo-European (consonant stems)

Participants are required to read the assigned part of the textbook for each class, and to make use of handbooks and monographs mentioned in each class. 
Requirements Participants are required to have taken the courses “General Introduction to Linguistics”, and recommended to take the course “Lecture on Historical Linguistics” along with this course.
