Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This class is conducted in Japanese.
All participants will read literature related to some of the issues occurring in the region known as "Latin America" or "Latin America. Through discussions based on the literature, we will consider issues that are important to us today, such as indigenous peoples, race and ethnicity, colonialism, poverty, the environment, and globalism. This year, we will focus on the relationship between globalization and social transformation, especially in Latin America, and discuss how we can envision the future of society in this new era. 
Class Schedule Session 1: Orientation (participants review and decide on topics and literature)
Session 2: Contemporary Issues of "Latin America" (by Aoki)
Session 3-14: Based on the issues of interest to each student, participants will research and collect literature and materials, which will be shared with all participants. Each time, a presenter will be chosen to report on the contents of the literature and materials and the issues to be discussed in class, and all students will discuss the issues raised by the presenter. Discussions will be based on the issues raised by the presenters.
