Class Objectives /Class Outline |
To develop into a competent researcher and professional who can help achieve a sustainable society with an awareness of connections between society and research in your field of specialty, you should understand how research in your field of specialty is conducted in society and how related development work is done to apply research findings to social challenges. Through a long-term internship at an academic institution, private business, or other organization inside or outside Japan, you will learn how to work as a professional researcher, improve your communication skills through discussions with your colleagues in your workplace, and develop your sociability as a professional. |
Class Schedule |
1. After consulting with your main academic adviser, you will do your internship. You are expected to spend a minimum of 2 weeks in your internship. However, the internship should not interfere with important activities, such as attendance at formal courses. 2. After completing your course activities, you will submit to your main academic adviser a credit recognition application, a report stating required information, including a schedule and venue for internship, the name of the host organization, and the content of your internship and certificates of internship acceptance and completion issued by the host organization. 3. You will give a presentation on your internship at a presentation session for your degree program. 4. You will be evaluated in terms of various factors, including the content of your presentation at a presentation session, the content of your discussions, goal achievement levels in academic activities and research, and the actual results of your internship. Credit recognition depends on the evaluation results. |
