A seminar with a text book om gauge theories and/or quantum physics as an introduction. Students learn experimental techniques on optics or particle physics. There are opportunities working with collaborators in other institution and perform experiments at facilities outside. Computer simulation can be a main tool for some topics. |

The objectives of this study are twofold: to acquire technical knowledge and experimental techniques necessary for conducting research in the field of quantum matter, and to provide guidance on writing a master's thesis. Particle physics and quantum information are among the main topics covered in this course. |
Class Schedule |
Students take a seminar on gauge theories or quantum physics as an introduction. Main theme of master thesis are usually on particle physics or quantum information. Students may have chance to give presentation in workshops or JPS meetings.
Tutorial is conducted to acquire knowledge and technique needed for research. |

Assessment is to be conducted comprehensively based on attitude from first year, achievement of study, research and presentation, substance of master’s thesis and presentation at final examination. Also, grades and credits are given when completing master’s course. |
