The course is designed to allow students to develop a more in-depth understanding of the process of teaching Japanese as a second language in various settings, through an examination of different theoretical approaches. A second goal is to provide students with opportunities to pursue individual research questions related to the field of Japanese language education.

You must be able to demonstrate the significance of your research first.  Otherwise, your plan of research is not considered valid.  In order to come up with a meaningful research topic, you need to read relevant literature exhaustively and critically review them.
