Class Objectives
/Class Outline
Each student is to make a presentation on research cases, research trend, and results of research, in the fields of special support pedagogy or spoken language pathology, and discuss. Moreover, students not only discuss the various research contents and methods of research, but also actually re-summarize a master's thesis and publish the paper in a refereed academic journal, and learn the paper writing procedure as researchers. Thereby students will acquire understanding and skills necessary for writing a doctoral dissertation.

"The presenter in each class should read necessary documents beforehand in presentation of study subject, study trend, study plan, and the result of analysis.
After the presentation, you should gather necessary materials for more understanding and modification of plan and result, and deepen your understanding of your study subject for the next class. Students except the presenter should investigate unknown points and questions about the contents of each class. "

Grading Method You should attend this class after understanding that you are requested to make much work and effect such as contributing a thesis to an academic journal and, of course, acquiring ability of critical reading on a dissertation.    
 
Practical Experience Experienced  
Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Based on the lecturer's experience as a speech-language pathologist in the U.S., the lecture will give students how the special education systems are different between Japan and the U.S., and how to work with students who have learning disabilities and other related disabilities.
