/Class Outline
SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) adopted by the 70th United Nations General Assembly in September 2015 mentions that we must “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”. This course focuses on education sector to achieve SDGs under various political, economic and socio-cultural situations; and has the following two objectives: i) to make comprehensive understanding on international cooperation in education to realize SDGs; and ii) to acquire effective skills to analyze inter-related issues in SDGs from multiple viewpoints.

Mid-Term and Term Presentaion, Final Report

Students must spend approximately 45-hour workload for the report assignment. The term report is to be submitted as an additional paper to that for "Sustainable Development in Education" with the same theme.

If you would like more detailed information than common materials, the related books, research papers, and websites will be recommended as references corresponding to the student's interests and willingness.

Preparation and
Review
Sufficient preparation and reflection are required before and after each class. Engage in inquiry-based learning that involves active research activities on the target country of your choice, rather than just using the materials provided by the lecturer. 
Requirements This course is set for credit transfer. "Sustainable Development in Education" (2 credits) must be registered simultaneously in the same term.

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it JOCV (Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers) as a science and mathematics teacher (two years) in Ghana; and some international cooperation projects in education. My personal and limited (but precious) experience would be shared in the class.
