Discussion about a designated theme based on reading/audio-visual materials. Basically face-to-face, but, if necessary due to health reasons, utilize online (simultaneous interactive) session.

For international students, this course aims at acquiring comprehensive understanding on education system and culture in Japan to elaborate a point of view and thinking on potential measures to improve educational issues in their home countries.

Review
Preparation/refrection are required before/after each class. Regarding the content understanding, join the classes always with questions from the perspective of international comparisons between Japan and other countries.  
Requirements Please confirm if the credit of this course will be included as a part of the required credits for graduation at the Student Support Office of each graduate program. For example, when Japanese graduate students who major in education or psychology take this course, the credit will be awarded, but not be counted for graduation.
Please take this course in the 1st or 3rd term. These are the same subject in different terms.
If international students would like to take this course for credit transfer (3 credits), they are supposed to register for “Independent Study on Fundamental Knowledge in Education” (1 credit) in the same term.
