This subject will introduce students to representative methodologies of educational sciences. Taking up main studies in respective areas, including practical research work in actual educational settings, this subject will encourage students to consider how a series of processes, from problem finding to problem solving, have worked so as to ensure their better understanding of the characteristics of respective methodologies and differences with those in their own areas of specialization. Specific examples of research ethics in the educational science domain will be also given so that students will enhance their awareness of research ethics required for their personal research themes.
(Total 8 lessons in an omnibus style) 
Class Schedule Lesson 1: Introductory guidance to give students an overview of this subject will be provided.
Lesson 2: General introduction to research ethics in the educational science domain will be provided.
Lesson 3: Based on specific examples, main research methods of various studies in the area of education (Adult Education and Continuing Education) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 4: Based on specific examples, main research methods of various studies in the area of education  (Methodology of Education) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 5: Based on specific examples, main research methods of various studies in the area of education (Philosophy of Education) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 6: Based on specific examples, main research methods of various studies in the area of education (Higher Education) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 7: Based on specific examples, main research methods in the area of educational design for teachers (Elementary Education) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 8: Based on specific examples, main research methods in the area of educational design for teachers (Mathematics and Science Education) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 9: Based on specific examples, main research methods in the area of educational design for teachers (Technology and Social Science Education) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 10: Based on specific examples, main research methods in the area of educational design for teachers (Japanese and English Language Education) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 11: Based on specific examples, main research methods in the area of educational design for teachers (Home Economics and Physical Education) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 12: Based on specific examples, main research methods in the area of educational design for teachers (Music and Arts Education) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 13: Based on specific examples, main research methods in the area of Japanese as as second language education (Acquisition of Second Language) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 14: Based on specific examples, main research methods in the area of Japanese as a second language education (General Linguistics) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.
Lesson 15: Based on specific examples, main research methods in the area of Japanese as a second language education (Evaluation of Language) will be introduced. Ethical problems that can occur in the course of research work will be also presented.

Please select one of them and submit the assignment.
Only one assignment can be submitted in a week.
Therefore, submit reports on a total of 7 assignments in 7 weeks.

Requirements Requirements:Students enrolling in AY 2024 or later. 
Grading Method Grades will be evaluated according to the short reports conducted from Lesson 2 to 15 (10*7=70 points).
