Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This course is for fieldwork, which is a research activity performed inside and/or outside of Japan. Before conducting fieldwork, students should develop a fieldwork plan with their main academic supervisor. Credits will be given after a successful completion of fieldwork and the evaluation of a fieldwork report.
Class Schedule 1. Students should develop a fieldwork plan by consulting with their main academic supervisor, before starting fieldwork. The minimum length of fieldwork is 2 weeks.
2. Upon the completion of fieldwork, students should submit the following documents: 1) Application for Recognition of Credits, and 2) Fieldwork Report, whose minimum length is 4 pages in A4 format. Students are encouraged to submit the above documents within 1 or 2 months after finishing the fieldwork, although the final deadline of submission is the end of the following semester.
3. Students will be graded based on their fieldwork report and their achievements by the main academic supervisor.

【Notes on fieldwork length】
-In order to earn credits, a minimum of two weeks of fieldwork is required.
-The two weeks do not always need to be consecutive. To do fieldwork for nonconsecutive weeks, the fieldwork theme must be consistent and it must be conducted on a clear fieldwork plan prepared prior to starting the fieldwork by consulting with the main academic supervisor.
-In case of nonconsecutive fieldwork, the relevant documents must be submitted after the last day of fieldwork by the deadline according to the existing rule (above-mentioned "2") .
