The course consists of two parts: (1) Lecture, (2) Presentation seminar and discussion; (3) Individual research. Students are also required to do (2) presentation of their research.

Students are expected to learn theories and research methods in the field of comparative education, international education, intercultural education, and other related studies. Students read articles on knowledge construction and how to conduct research in these fields, and learn to critically analyze issues and present their analysis.  
比較教育・国際教育・異文化間教育及び関連分野の研究についての理論・研究方法を学ぶ。知識構築や研究論文の執筆方法に関する文献を読み,分析方法や論拠と解釈の提示方法について学ぶ。
