In order to consider how museums and archives should collaborate with schools as a means of diversifying educational methods to deepen learning in social studies classes, we will examine the nature of texts that make more effective the "provision of learning opportunities to visitors through exhibitions," which is central to the provision of learning opportunities by museums and archives, and will examine the role of museums and archives in providing learning opportunities to visitors. To consider ways to substantiate the collaboration between museums and school. |

Session 1: Orientation Session 2: Investigate the actual conditions (exhibition content, arrangement, and complementary materials) for presenting "learning opportunities for visitors through exhibitions" in social/historical museums and archives in Japan (presentation by each participant). Session 3: Selection of candidate target museums and archives Session 4: On-site survey of target museums and archives (concentrated with Session 5) Session 5: Continuing from Session 4, on-site survey of target museums and archives (concentrated together with Session 4) Session 6: Analysis of various materials (explanation sheets, etc.) collected at the museums and archives surveyed to complement the "exhibits" (presentation by each participant) Session 7: Analysis of materials (explanation sheets, etc.) to complement the "exhibits" collected at the museums and archives surveyed (presentation by each student). Session 8: Analysis of materials (explanation sheets, etc.) to complement the "exhibits" collected at the museums and archives surveyed (presentation by each student) Session 9: Consideration of how original texts should be and how to create them in order to effectively utilize social/historical museums and archives in the logic of social studies classes.
