From viewpoint of citizenhood and social science recognition contents, covers ethics education contents and from modern ethics and applied ethics perspectives and conducts teaching contents development. Furthermore, through research and discussion of basic materials on ethics in Japan/overseas, enhances recognition on citizenhood and social science, and has students acquire advanced capabilities for teaching contents development and research for social recognition education and ethics education (moral education).

Provides basic issue of contemporary ethics recent issue faced by ethics first. Then, after students’ selecting some of them and presenting research results, holds a discussion. Assuming act and rule, personality and freedom, self versus others as a basic issue of contemporary ethics. Centers on issues in applied ethics as recent issues that ethics is facing, namely, life ethics, medical ethics, environmental ethics, economy ethics, and information ethics. Documents to be determined through discussion with students.
