To master effective methods for writing a master thesis and complete the thesis.
 
Class Schedule How to conduct classes
(1) Develop a detailed study plan.
(2) Find previous studies, both Japanese and foreign papers. Find at least five important articles and at least ten other related articles. A summary of these papers is presented.(Contributes to grades.) Discuss with your supervisor and narrow down previous research for writing your master thesis. The details of these papers are presented. (Contributes to grades.)
(3) Clarify the motivation, significance, purpose, and method of your master's thesis. In the case of empirical research, if necessary, refer to the literature in reference books when considering methods.
(4) Compare with previous studies to clarify the contribution of the paper.
(5) In the case of an empirical study, select the necessary data and check if the data can be obtained.
(6) Derive and analyze theoretical and empirical results. The results and analysis are discussed with the supervisor.
(7) Consider the composition of the paper and discuss it with the supervisor.
(8) Complete your master thesis. (Contributes to grade.) However, the first chapter of the paper includes motivation and significance, objectives, methods, contributions, and an overview of the results.
(9) Present a paper and answer questions from your advisor. (Contributes to grade.)

At first, build a concrete research plan and timetable, and then make a thesis following the schedule. 
Requirements The enrollment of this course is restricted to students whose thesis is under my supervision. 
Grading Method The evaluation is based on the summary of the previous research and the presentation and question-and-answer session (20% contribution to the grade), the content of the completed master's thesis (60% contribution to the grade), and the presentation and question-and-answer session (20% contribution to the grade).
