The variorum edition of 三都賦 will be used in class. We will compare it with various versions of文選, which exist today, and learn how to work out the meanings of ancient literature and interpret classical Chinese texts through the tasks such as transliteration of texts, phrasing, proofreading, verification of sources, as well as intensive reading of the body texts and translation into contemporary Japanese. |
