Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This course will focus on research presentations to be delivered by students. The course will be managed by all lecturers with expertise in research methods on Chinese thought and culture. Students will select prominent examples of past research and current cutting-edge research on Chinese thought and culture in line with their own particular research interests, and will present an analysis of such research.
These presentations will then be discussed among all participating students in terms of the significance of the selected research, its problems, and the validity of the presenter’s analysis. As part of this discussion, there will be readings of the source materials cited. The source texts will generally be Chinese texts. The presenters will then be provided guidance to encourage them to deepen and develop their research.
